Do you want to build upon your academic knowledge and gain some real hands-on experience while helping people in other nations? Then join us!

Help bring water to impoverished peoples in developing nations as described at www.RotaryWater.org. Projects are currently in Central Asia (Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan). Plans for Africa and other nations are being developed.

Southern DataStream leads international projects in partnership with service clubs such as Rotary International, which boasts 1.2 million members in 32,000 clubs spread over 200 nations.

The Southern DataStream Village Water supply project helps people in remote communities of underdeveloped nations build sustainable solutions to their drinking water supply needs.

The projects require the talents of many young professionals (environmentalists, civil and mechanical engineers, business, anthropology and journalism students, politics, economics and law students etc.) who is interested in raising awareness within a community of Rotarians or other community groups, developing proposal for a large-scale corporate sponsor, improving an engineering Handbook on water project implementation or any other part of this international project, we will surely have an assignment, where you can learn to manage many of the challenges we face each and every day.

Based in Florida, trainees will handle tasks suited to their academic backgrounds and interests:

  • developing plans and design methods for the actual water systems,

  • creating progress reports on current projects,

  • assembling grant applications for new projects,

  • communicating with engineers and project managers in the remote nations,

  • creating videos, brochures, reports and other information items for civic organizations and government agencies.
