H4. Construction Design, CAD and Engineering Support
Training for Engineering, Design or Architecture students.
SDS/III in cooperation with other non-profit organization has been designing a list of construction improvements in the LaBelle Nature Park and along the Caloosahatchee river. Creating new design plans and drawings for various related technical projects (e.g. for designing Hendry County Environmental Education Center, for constructing boardwalks along the river, for demarcating walking and kayaking trails, for terracing river banks land, for constructing information kiosks within the Park, etc.) and presenting these ideas and plans to appropriate partners and funding bodies are main components of this training project.

List of main tasks:
- Research main designing methodology procedures used in related projects;
- Get familiar with local, state and federal legislation to understand required regulations for creating your designs;
- Conduct field trips to collect needed data and evaluate selected sites;
- Assist in site evaluation, create comprehensive database of related photos and maps;
- Develop draft CAD drawings of specific assigned improvement design;
- Review your plans with professional architects and decision makers;
- According to the obtained feedback, improve your plans;
- Assist with construction of approved designs.
