Internship for Computer Science and Engineering students.

Southern DataStream maintains an extensive network of remote field data collection stations in south Florida. Data from these stations are currently collected by technicians who visit these sites on a weekly or monthly basis. The internship involves developing low-cost telemetry systems using off-the-shelf device technologies (spread-spectrum, cellular, etc.). Data collected from these sites are also to be integrated with the project management web sites to facilitate access by research partners and clients.

Intern will study:

• previous interns' resources documenting telemetry and databases systems including hardware, software, telecommunication service provides
• water sampler hardware to understand the instruments feeding the telemetry system
• manuals and online resources describing software environments (PC 208W, Delphi FTP application, PHP, MySQL, Apache, Campbell Scientific DataLogger programming language, etc.) to be used in telemetry and databases project

What are the program requirements?
We do not require you to be an experienced employee. What we do require is that you possess a strong wish to learn new things related to your future career as well as some skills beyond your professional focus.
